The Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) was a statutory body established by the Government of India in 1971 under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970. It regulated education and professional standards in traditional Indian systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani. In 2021, CCIM was replaced by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) to further strengthen and modernize the regulation of Indian medical education and practice.
